Photos or images of the Nobel Medal
Permission to use an image or photo of a Nobel medal is only granted if the image is going to be used as an illustration for an editorial text about Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize® or a Laureate.
An image of the Nobel medal may, however, not be used on the cover of books, booklets or other printed matter, on posters, in exhibitions etc, nor for publicity or commercial purposes.

Nobel Week Dialogue

In order to attend you must have not only completed the registration process but also received a confirmation email.
Nobel Prize Outreach will not share any of your personal information with third parties; however we reserve the right to share your personal information if we are legally obligated to do so.
By registering to attend as an audience member, you agree to receive periodic email updates regarding event details, reminders and changes to the event programme in the lead up to the 9th December event as well as periodic email information about other similar activities.
By registering to attend as an audience member, you agree to receive a text alert to your mobile (first) to update you regarding registering for specific afternoon discussion panel preferences closer to the event, and (second) to remind you, a week prior to the event.
Nobel Prize Outreach retains the right to ask attendees to leave for any reason and at any time during the Nobel Week Dialogue.
By registering to attend the Nobel Week Dialogue as an audience member, you understand that you have no recourse to public funds or private scholarship; all costs incurred to attend the event are your responsibility.
The Nobel Week Dialogue, or parts of it, will be broadcast in different ways and on different media, and by attending Nobel Week Dialogue in person you may be captured on camera and/or film. If you do not want to be captured on camera and/or film, you cannot attend the conference.
Further, Nobel Prize Outreach has the right, but not the obligation, to edit any film or recording from the Nobel Week Dialogue.
Nobel Prize Outreach shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage arising from any change in the Nobel Week Dialogue, its programme, the date or the involvement of particular speakers or delegates, or from the cancellation of the Nobel Week Dialogue for whatever reason.
Lectures and discussions
To use or translate a presentation speech, a lecture, a discussion or a biography, permission must be granted by Nobel Prize Outreach.

2. TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA WE PROCESS
2.1 Whenever you use our website or platform, we collect:
Information concerning your browser behaviour and engagement information, such as how long you visit what links you click on, what pages you visit, how many times you visit a page and how long it takes for you to come back.
Technical identifiers that are associated with the device you use, such as IP address, the browser in use and location.
2.2 When you contact us via e-mail or telephone, or any other way, we collect the information you provide us with. In most cases this is:
Your contact information, such as your name, e-mail address, phone number and postal address.
Your student or professional characteristics, such as the school or university you go to or your organisation and your function.
The content of your communication and the technical details of the communication itself, such as with whom you correspond at our end, the date and time.

2.3 When you use our platform, we collect:
The basic information required to build your profile, that includes your first name, family name and e-mail address.
The profile details you provide us with, such as details pertaining to your school or university, user name, nationality, date of birth, topics of interest and the information you provide in your biography.
Your profile picture and profile header
Your posts and comments on the platform
Other profile information reported by other users or by the system due to violation of the Community rules such as, but not limited to, your profile, messages sent on the platform, posts and comments.
The information we require to allow you access to our platform, namely your name, e-mail address and user name.
The feedback you provide
Information about what courses you have enrolled in.
2.5 By deleting your profile on the Ignitor Platform, all your personal information is deleted. Comments and metadata will be kept indefinitely.
3. PURPOSE FOR PROCESSING
3.1 We process your personal data to perform statistical analyses so that we may improve our website and platform or to develop new products and services.
3.2 We may process your personal data, such as activity on the platform, your name and university, and additional information you provide us with, to your university about you submitting your candidacy for the Ignitor Fellowship.
3.4 We may process your personal data to ensure the safety of all parties on the platform. This includes the review of reported profiles, posts, comments and messages that are deemed inappropriate by the system or as reported by other users in violation of Terms and Conditions.
3.5 We process your personal data to comply with our legal obligations or to comply with any reasonable request from competent law enforcement agents or representatives, judicial authorities, governmental agencies or bodies, including competent data protection authorities. In the same way, we may transfer your personal data upon our own initiative to the police or the judicial authorities as evidence or if there are justified suspicions of an unlawful act or crime committed by you through your registration with or use of our website, our platform or other interaction with us.
4. BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
4.1 We process your personal data as far as this is necessary for performing the agreement between you and the Ignitor Community. This includes the review of your posts and the Activity Feed and in groups by our community team.
4.2 The processing of your personal data for the purposes outlined in clauses 3.3 and 3.5 is necessary to allow us to comply with our legal obligations.
The processing of your personal data for the purposes outlined in clauses 3.1 and 3.4, is necessary for the purpose of the legitimate interests of the Ignitor Community, which are:
Continuous improvements of our website, platform, products and services to ensure that you have the best experience possible.
Keeping our website and platform safe from misuse and illegal activity.
5.1 You understand that if you use our website or platform, your personal details are also processed by third parties that process your data on our behalf in order to provide you with our tools and services and to improve them. We rely on third parties to follow certain of your actions on our website or platform in order to better understand how the Ignitor Platform is used. In order to manage the involvement of our third-party service providers, we also rely on a specific third-party service provider that is devoted to organising these data flows in a comprehensible and efficient manner.
5.2 As outlined in clause 3.2, should you present your candidacy for the Ignitor Fellowship, information such as your name, university and platform activity will be shared with your university.
6.1 We place a number of cookies when you visit the Website. These cookies are divided in four groups of cookies: functional cookies, analytical and statistical cookies, marketing and social media cookies, and unclassified cookies.

7. YOUR RIGHTS
7.1 You have the right to request access to all personal data processed by us pertaining to you.
7.2 You have the right to ask that any personal data pertaining to you that are inaccurate, are corrected free of charge. Your request for correction must be accompanied by proof of the flawed nature of the data for which you ask the correction.
7.3 You have the right to withdraw your earlier given consent for processing your personal data.
7.4 You have the right to request that your personal data pertaining will be deleted if they are no longer required in light of the purposes outlined in clause 3 or if you withdraw your consent. This request will be evaluated by the Ignitor Fellowship against:
Overriding interests of the Ignitor Community or any other third party;
Legal or regulatory obligations or administrative or judicial orders may contradict such deletion.
Instead of deletion, you can also ask that the Ignitor Community limits the processing of your personal data if and when (a) you contest the accuracy of that data, (b) the processing is illegitimate or (c) the data are no longer needed for the purposes listed under clause 3 but you need them to defend yourself in judicial proceedings.
7.5. You have the right to object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. However, you can always object to processing for direct marketing purposes free of charge and without justification.
7.6. When we process your personal data based on your consent or in order to perform a contract, you have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and you have the right to transmit those data to another controller.
7.7. You have the right not to be subject to a decision solely based on automated processing, which produces legal effects concerning you or when this decision similarly significantly affects you unless these decisions are made as a consequence of our agreement in order to provide you with the services requested by you or when we asked your explicit consent for this.
7.8 If you wish to submit a request to exercise one or more of the rights listed above or you want to receive more information about how we protect your personal data, you can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. This e-mail in which you request to exercise a data subject right shall not be construed as consent to the processing of your personal data beyond what is required for handling your request. Such request should clearly state which right you wish to exercise and, if required, the reasons or proof for it. It should also be dated and signed and accompanied by a digitally scanned copy of your valid identity card proving your identity.
We will promptly inform you of having received this request. If the request proves valid, we will honour it as soon as reasonably possible and at the latest one month after we received your request.
